The Xara Picture Editor has a very simple intuitive user interface that offers a range of picture viewing and editing facilities through live interactive tools.
You can click on an icon and that makes the dialog appear and stay on screen like traditional dialogs. You can then drag the window to anywhere on the screen where it will remain until you click the close button to hide the dialog like a normal dialog. The next time you click the icon the dialog will return to where it was last placed.
Viewing and editing pictures is one of the most common tasks. Any time saved in the process, even if it's just a few mouse-clicks, soon adds up.
There are no OK buttons on the XPE dialogs. Instead all controls are live and interactive. As you drag a slider the image is updated. If you enter new numeric values, such as size or angle, the image is also updated as you type.
In addition many tools allow direct drags on the picture. For example with the Rotate dialog active you can drag on the picture to rotate. With the Size dialog active you can drag zoom into specific parts of the image.
The Xara Picture Editor is designed to perform the most common picture editing operations—size, rotate, crop and enhance—in the quickest, simplest fashion possible. Simple dialogs and 'live-action' controls all help make the process of working with photo a pleasure, not a pain.
